La saison était bien lancée, alors on partait, à deux, à trois équipiers, bateaux, cela dépendait des disponibilités des copains et de la météo. Le temps était au temps des pontons, au café chez Hervé le matin, au point avec les pêcheurs et l’ami Loulou que j’accompagnais avec plaisir relever les casiers. Le soir parfois il y avait du maquereau, des pots avec les copains dans les carrés des uns et des autres, des sorties éclairs juste pour prendre l’air et aller en mer au coucher de soleil, simplement parce qu’on est là et que c’est beau. Notre horloge était à la météo et nous ne laissions pas un créneau sans quelques coups de fils du genre : « Salut Dom, demain possible de rallier Jersey, Pierre est chaud, t’es dispo ? », « Ok pour moi »… et on partait…
4 aout : Destination Gorey
On a apparaillé sur le jusant, destination Gorey à une vingtaine de miles. La marée venait de renverser. Mer belle un peu agitée au passage du cap de Flamanville, route au 200 pour pointer sur l’entrée de la passe de l’Etoc au nord de Jersey. Le vent s’est établit ouest, Pierre s’occupait du réglage des voiles, Dom avait un petit sourire aux lèvres alors qu’il tenait la barre. Tout était pour le mieux, je me suis occupé de la nav et j’ai fait chauffer un café.
Au passage de l’Etoc, Le compas de relèvement est de service. Il faut négocier notre route sur une bande de un mile maximum et parer les roches Frouquie sur Tribord et Grande Rousse sur babord. En gros faut pas se louper, le courant bat son plein, on monte à 10 nœuds sur le fond et le paysage défile vite… Les Ecréhou c’est un vrai poème, le courant est maître il te pousse ou te tire, les roches apparaissent à sa guise suivant si la mer est plus ou moins haute… Alors côté calcul de hauteur s’est bien de réviser deux fois plutôt qu’une et sur la carte tu t’occupes de ne pas passer au dessus de 2’00’10 de longitude ouest… et ça passe.
Les Ecrehou sont derrière nous et la digue de Sainte Catherine se rapproche. On voit apparaître un château du moyen age qui se dresse à flan de falaise… on arrive les amis et quelques 3h après notre départ on mouille dans la baie de Gorey sous les remparts du château de Mont Orgueil en attendant le plein pour entrer dans le port.
La nuit se passe au sec, le bateau est pausé sur sa quille contre le quai. Nous repartons à 7h du matin, en attendant une tasse à la main que la mer remonte pour que le bateau flotte à nouveau. Retour sur Dielette, trois heures et demi plus tard Dielette est en vue. Tout sourire.
12 Aout : Guernesey – Herm
Cela faisait un certain temps que Babette et Jean Claude se voyaient faire un tour sur l’Arpège. Alors ce jour là on a pris la direction de Saint Peter, et le vent venait de là bas…
Alors on s’est fait mouiller, bien au taquet à tenir notre prés serré… 10h de nav à tirer des bords sous le banc de la Scholle pour passer la pointe de Sark et d’autres encore dans le grand Russel avant d’atteindre Saint Peter bien rincé. Je pense que c’est ce dont ils avaient envie, un peu de sport… et pour ça on a été bien servit. Pour le coup, on avait verrouillé l’épreuve en donnant un rendez vous au copain David avec son Ombrine… comme ça, on irait sinon rien. Cela a été une bien chouette navigation et une rencontre au port heureuse avec l’équipage voisin. Le fait d’avoir partagé l’effort et les conditions de mer rapproche… ça c’est certain !
Le lendemain, on appareillait pour mouiller l’ancre en face de Herm et de pauser le pied dessus. L’occasion de découvrir et de trainer l’annexe sur une nouvelle plage. D’aborder encore à la voile une île, un monde à part. Le soir, retour sur le bateau pour une bonne bouffe en commun, et un peu avant minuit l’arrivée de Dom et Laurence qui nous ont rejoins sur leur Westerly ont relancé la soirée de plus belle…
Le retour a été des plus tranquille, le vent gonflait les voiles sans trop se forcer. Avec Babette, Jean Claude et Eric on a passé le temps à rigoler et à partager des histoires pendant que le bateau glissait lentement vers Dielette… un peu ivre encore sans doute de la virée.
15 Aout : Destination Sark
A peine rentré, que le lendemain Pierre & Sandra embarquent à bord, les loustiques sont chauds et la fenêtre est trop belle.. la marée est propice pour toucher en début de soirée Sark. La mer est magnifique, le vent établit à 15 noeuds Est, Nord Est, pile poil pour envoyer le Spi sans mouiller le maillot… alors ok, Feu !
Après trois heures, nous arrivons en vue de Sark, et nous nous approchons en réduisant la toile pour négocier la partie serrée de cette navigation. Le Gouliot, un passage entre les îles de Sark et Brechou, pas plus 5 longueurs de bateau séparent les deux îles, et il y a de l’eau…
Il sera difficile de rendre le silence du passage du gouliot sous grand voile. Lorsque les roches se rapprochent alors que l’étrave pointe vers un bout de mer entre deux falaises à pic. Le silence nous tombe dessus alors que nous passons sous voile, les mots se prononcent plus doucement et se font moins nombreux. Et puis le havre Gosselin apparait comme caché derrière un mur, une petite hanse et des bateaux au mouillage, faire gaffe aux cailloux, il y en a un planqué sur bâbord. Nous continuons doucement en passant près d’un vieux grément, le Zephyr pauser là sur fond des lumières de Guernesey, un peu plus au sud nous repérons un coin où mouiller l’ancre. Là, à l’abri du vent un peu au dessus de la pointe de la Joue. L’ancre croche et je vérifie la tension de l’aussière. Nous affalons la voile… il y a une joie silencieuse qui éclaire nos visages.
Le lendemain les pirates sont de sortie, nous gonflons l’annexe pour mettre le pied sur l’île. C’est incroyable d’aborder une île avec son bateau de la sorte sans passer par le port. Alors que Pierre et Sandra poussent les pagaies, je regarde le bateau au milieu de ce décor qui s’éloigne et ressent une sorte de liberté nouvelle, celle de pouvoir déplacer sa maison où bon te semble lorsque la mer te le permet…
La visite de l’île se termine en baignade autour du bateau. Un bon déjeuner pour caler l’estomac et en route. L’heure est à la renverse et il faut en profiter pour passer la pointe sud de l’île. Le retour se passe agréablement, la mer est belle et le vent souffle juste ce qu’il faut… un peu mou parfois. C’est calme et reposant… L’arrivée sur Dielette se fait à la voile en tirant des bords depuis la cardinale de Flamanville, l’exercice nous amuse et c’est avec un hourra que nous passons l’entrée du port avant d’allumer le moteur…
Ainsi se joue la saison, au grès des fenêtres météo, entre les dispos des uns, les heures de marée et les embruns pour compagnons. J’ai aimé la citation de Pierre lorsque nous venions de passer le Gouliot, le Spi avait été affalé et nous avions renoncé à allumer le moteur…
